2018 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting Opportunities for Fellows-in-Training

Applications for the MedTox Shark Tank: FIT Research Forum and the FIT Open Mic Competition to be held at the 2018 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington DC on April 6-8, 2018 are now being accepted through November 30, 2017. Please see below for details.

MedTox Shark Tank: FIT Research Forum

The MedTox Shark Tank: Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Research Forum is an opportunity for fellows to obtain expert input during the formative stage of their research projects. First-year and second-year fellows are invited to submit an abstract of a research proposal to this forum. After initial review, eight proposals will be selected for presentation during the MedTox Shark Tank at the 2018 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, DC, April 6-8, 2018. The presentations will be made to a panel of senior medical toxicology faculty in an environment geared towards constructive comments and feedback. The panel will select the top two presentations and award each $1500 towards travel to present their research results as a plenary session at either the 2019 or 2020 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting.

The competition is conducted in the exciting Ignite-style format, which provides fast and intense presentations with sharp, concise messages. Any topic relevant to medical toxicology is appropriate—historical topics, mystery cases, molecular mechanisms, educational development, etc. Above all, we are looking for engaging speakers and interesting presentations.
