PUBLIC AWARENESS IN MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY

Prevention is one of the critical cornerstones of effective healthcare delivery. Adults and children are exposed to drugs, chemicals, and natural toxins on a daily basis.  Some of these exposures do not present a true health hazard while others are much more problematic and cause their own unique illness and disease.  The MTF Public Awareness in Medical Toxicology program offers public education programs to the community that will provide lay-targeted education from national medical toxicology experts.

  • Public Education Workshops
An annual workshop will be convened in association with the ACMT Spring Conference that will provide education to the community on timely topics of medical toxicology interest.  This award will help support a one-day program and is funded for one year at $10,000.

  • Public Education On-Line Learning
This program will build web-based education on topics pertaining to medical toxicology geared toward communities and the public.
