ACMT & PEHSU Safer Disinfectant Use Mini Web Series FAQs

Toxicity of Disinfectants

The February 24, 2021 ACMT webinar focused on toxicity of three of the most common chemical disinfectants in everyday use at the home, office, and childcare/education sites. The following FAQs summarize some of the issues raised and addressed in the webinar. A number of questions about other disinfectants and the importance of process (i.e., cleaning surfaces of visible dirt/grime prior to application of a disinfectant, appropriate use/storage/dilution and avoiding mixing chemicals, allowing adequate contact time) were also raised and were covered in the previous disinfectant webinar on December 9, 2020 by Dr. David Weber, or related resources.
