Welcome to the Internet of Medical Toxicology Archives
In 1998, ACMT began publishing the The Internet Journal of Medical Toxicology (IJMT). Under Editor-in-Chief, Keith Burkhart, MD, FACMT, IJMT was published for seven years, ending publication in 2004 at which time the print Journal of Medical Toxicology was founded.
IJMT was an effort by ACMT to combine many of the advantages of an on-line journal and a discussion group. When founded, IJMT didn't initially publish original research. Instead, IJMT published editorials, clinical case conferences, news and other items that deal with important, difficult, or controversial topics in Medical Toxicology for the specific purpose of generating a discussion. Over the ensuring years submission of original research was encouraged.
