ASM Abstract and Fellows-In-Training Opportunities

Submit an Abstract. Do you have medical toxicology research to disseminate? Are you a clinician or trainee looking for feedback from leaders in the field of medical toxicology? ACMT invites you to submit a research study or case report to be showcased as a platform, moderated poster, or poster at the 2018 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington DC at the Washington Georgetown Marriott on April 6-8, 2018. Submission deadline: November 15, 2017.

MedTox Shark Tank: FIT Research Forum. The MedTox Shark Tank: Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Research Forum is an opportunity for fellows to obtain expert input during the formative stage of their research projects. First-year and second-year fellows are invited to submit an abstract of a research proposal to this forum. After initial review, eight proposals will be selected for presentation during the MedTox Shark Tank at the 2018 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, DC, April 6-8, 2018. 

New for 2018! The long-standing FIT Research Forum will take on a new look this year. Forum moderators will provide constructive comments and have $$$ to invest in each presentation. Two presenters that garner the most investment money will each receive $1,500 towards travel to the 2019 or 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting to present their research! Deadline for submission: November 30, 2017.

Fellows-in-Training Open Mic Competition. The 2018 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting FIT Open Mic Competition gives Fellows-in-Training the opportunity to give a lecture in a national forum where experienced speakers will offer insight on content and delivery. The competition is conducted in the exciting Ignite-style format, which provides fast and intense presentations with sharp, concise messages. Any topic relevant to medical toxicology is appropriate—historical topics, mystery cases, molecular mechanisms, educational development, etc. Above all, we are looking for engaging speakers and interesting presentations. Proposals will be evaluated on content and originality. Deadline for submission: November 30, 2017.
