ASM Awards, Inductions and Scholarships

Dr. Eric Lavonas holds his award with ACMT President Charles McKay

Eric Lavonas, MD, FACMT, of Denver Health received the 2017 ACMT Recognition Award for his outstanding contributions Medical Toxicology Research. 

Katherine Katzung, MD, received the Best Oral Platform Award for her presentation at the 2016 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting “Randomized Controlled Study Comparing High Dose Insulin (HDI) to Vasopressors or Combination Therapy in Refractory Toxin-Induced Cardiogenic Shock (TICS).

  • Michael P. Spadafora ACMT Travel Award: Alexander Huh, MD, University of Pittsburgh—Current research projects involve acetaminophen overdose prognostic biomarkers.
  • Travel Scholarship for Underrepresented Minority Medical Trainee: Sarah Ann Anderson, MD, PhD, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian—Current research and residency project focuses on characterizing the neuropsychiatric presentation of adolescents presenting to the ED with synthetic cannabinoid intoxication as compared to marijuana intoxication. 
  • SAEM Award, funded by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine was awarded to Jennifer Love, MD, University of Pennsylvania
