In Review: Board Review Course and ACMT’s Total Tox Course

On September 5-7, ACMT held two events at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront in Chicago, IL. The 2018 Board Review Course (BRC), organized by Evan Schwarz and Michael Levine, broke attendance records with 168 attendees—the highest ever! With the help of ACMT volunteers, this year's BRC offered more content than ever before: 370 online and print flashcards; 96 new questions for the Quiz Bank making a total of 919 study questions; print syllabus index of slides for easy reference of course content; the creation of 2 self-directed modules.

ACMT’s Total Tox Course, organized by Christina Hantsch and Kate Katzung, was a pilot event offered by ACMT that focused on medical toxicology topics of interest to emergency providers, including toxicological issues of current clinical and public health importance. Ninety-two (92) attendees were presented with state-of-the-art updates on the evaluation and initial management of poisoning and exposure to medications, drugs of abuse, chemical terrorism, and environmental toxins. In addition to attendees from the US, emergency providers from Canada, Finland, Australia, and Japan attended the course.
