We are pleased to announce that ACMT has relaunched the Medical Toxicology Mentorship Program. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to become a mentor or mentee! Mentorship has long been known to increase career satisfaction and advancement. This informal program will bring together our members for mentoring relationships determined by the mentor/mentee pairs.
Any ACMT member can sign-up to be a mentor during the annual enrollment period which ends Sep. 15, 2019.
A list of mentors and their expertise will be posted in the online Member Center on October 1. At that time mentees can contact mentors to arrange communication.
The decision to relaunch the Mentorship Program was based on feedback we received from a Recent Graduate Section survey, although mentors and mentees can be members of all career stages. "I would have taken advantage of an ACMT mentorship program as I started my own toxicology service, and I hope that future junior toxicologists will find the program beneficial," Kate Katzung, MD.
The program aims to bring together experienced medical toxicology mentors with mentees who wish to expand and refine their skill set in medical toxicology. Ideally this program will provide one-on-one opportunities for skill development to advance your medical toxicology career.
Board Member Louise Kao, MD, FACMT contributed to the Mentorship Program along with Recent Graduate Section co-chairs Michael Darracq, MD, FACMT, and Kate Katzung, MD, and Derrick Lung, MD, FACMT.
