ACMT has a contract with U.S. Department of Homeland Security to provide subject matter expertise and regional capacity for issues regarding chemical threats. The network of ACMT SMEs has expanded and we hope to have designated individual members in all 10 Federal regions this year.

In August 2018, following the nerve agent poisonings in the United Kingdom, several federal agencies prepared a document, “Nerve Agent Information for Emergency Medical Services and Hospitals” to emphasize standard protocols and to distinguish nerve agent exposure from the more prevalent opioid overdose toxidrome.

This has been disseminated through various channels; ACMT agreed to share this information with our members for review and to use in discussions with trainees, colleagues, and relevant medical providers.
