Marilyn Huestes, PhD, recently retired Chief of Chemistry and Drug Metabolism at NIDA’s Intramural Research Program (IRP) will present ‘THC and Driving Impairment’ on Friday, April 6. Dr. Huestes is a renowned international speaker and her work has yielded more than 400 manuscripts, most recently with a focus on the effects of marijuana use on driving impairment.

Arthur L. Kellermann, MD, MPH, Dean of the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, will present ‘The Physician Advocate’ on Sunday, April 8. Dr. Kellermann’s writings include more than 200 publications on various aspects of emergency cardiac care, health services research, injury prevention and the role of emergency departments in providing health care to the poor.

Satellite Session: Toxic Threats, Chemical Security & Counterfeit Medications
The Satellite Session on Thursday, April 5 will provide an important opportunity to interact with a number of DC area organizations of great interest to medical toxicologists. Representatives from Homeland Security, DEA, FDA, and pharmaceutical manufacturers will discuss several aspects of chemical and pharmaceutical security as well as presentations by ACMT members and others in the area of chemical terrorism preparedness and community response.
