Get involved with the 2018 ACMT at NACCT Work Group

The ACMT Education Committee is looking for volunteers to serve on the 2018 ACMT at NACCT Work Group. The purpose of this work group is to coordinate all of ACMT’s educational activities at 2018 NACCT, October 25-30 in Chicago, IL.

To be a member of this work group, volunteers must agree to be a primary organizer of at least one of the ACMT activities at NACCT. If interested, email Christina Hantsch (chantsc@lumc.edu) and identify which of the following activities you would like to take the lead on.

ACMT Pre-Meeting
The 2018 ACMT Pre-Meeting is a full-day session (8-5pm) scheduled for Monday, October 23, 2018, and centered on a theme. Because the event requires separate enrollment from the main congress, the subject matter needs to appeal to a wide audience to ensure good attendance. This activity needs 2-3 volunteers to:
  • Promote session and encourage others to submit proposals
  • Review submissions to RFP (view 2018 RFP)
  • Develop agenda (view example from  2016 and 2017)
  • Identify and solicit speakers
  • Communicate with speaker(s) concerning session titles, objectives, speaker affiliations, deadlines, etc.
  • Attend NACCT and serve as a moderator during the Pre-Meeting
  • Deadline to have agenda finalized: March 30, 2018.

Practice Symposium
The Practice Symposium is 60 minutes in length and covers matters pertaining to clinical practice development, career advancement, and expansion of the realm of medical toxicology. The format is usually didactic sessions, although panel discussions may be included if the topic allows. This activity needs 1 volunteer to:

  • Attend NACCT and serve as the moderator for the Practice Symposium
  • Deadline to have agenda finalized: March 30, 2018.

Scientific Symposium
The Scientific Symposium is 90 minutes in length and covers new scientific advancements in medical toxicology, often with a basic science focus. The format usually includes several didactic sessions (e.g., lectures), although panel discussions may be included if the topic and time allows. This activity needs 1 volunteer to:
  • Promote session and encourage others to submit proposals
  • Review submissions to RFP (view 2018 RFP)
  • Identify topic and confirm speaker(s)
  • Communicate with speaker(s) concerning session titles, objectives, speaker affiliations, deadlines, etc.
