The Medical Toxicology Foundation funds innovative projects that support the Foundation’s mission to advance research and education in the prevention and treatment of patients adversely impacted by drugs, chemicals, and natural toxins.

Dr. Michael P. Spadafora Medical Toxicology Travel Award

Dr. Michael P. Spadafora was an academic emergency physician, medical toxicologist, and ACMT member who was dedicated to resident education. After his untimely death in 1999, awards were established through MTF in his name to encourage residents to pursue medical toxicology fellowship training. The award will provide registration to ACMT's Annual Scientific Meeting and fund reimbursement to support travel and lodging. 

Dr. Michael Shannon Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Travel Award

This travel award was established to encourage medical trainees (medical students or residents), who self-identify as members of any underrepresented group, to attend ACMT’s Annual Scientific Meeting. Initially funded through ACMT’s cooperative agreement with ATSDR, this award is now funded entirely by the Medical Toxicology Foundation. The award will provide registration to ACMT's Annual Scientific Meeting and fund reimbursement to support travel and lodging. 

J&J Consumer Health Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Travel Award

In partnership with Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, the Medical Toxicology Foundation has expanded its opportunity to provide travel awards that will allow medical trainees (medical students or residents), who self-identify as members of any underrepresented group, to attend ACMT’s Annual Scientific Meeting. The award will provide registration to ACMT's Annual Scientific Meeting and fund reimbursement to support travel and lodging.
