Ziad Kazzi, MD, FACMT
President (2025-2027)
Dr. Ziad Kazzi is a Professor at the department of Emergency Medicine and the Director of the International Medical Toxicology Fellowship Program at Emory University. He is also the Assistant Medical Director of the Georgia Poison Center and a Guest Researcher at the CDC National Center of Environmental Health.

Andrew Stolbach, MD, MPH, FACMT
Vice President (2025-2027)
Dr. Stolbach is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology. He serves as a consultant to the Maryland Poison Center, is a member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital P&T Committee, and is a Johns Hopkins IRB co-Chair.

Maryann Amirshahi, PharmD, MD, MPH, PhD, FACMT
Secretary/Treasurer (2025-2027)
Dr. Amirshahi is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and practices clinically at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She is a medical toxicologist at the National Capital Poison Center.

Anthony Pizon, MD, FACMT
Past President (2025-2027)
Dr. Pizon is currently a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Medical Toxicology at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. He serves as Chief of the Division of Medical Toxicology and Director of the Medical Toxicology Fellowship at UPMC. He is also Assistant Medical Director of both the Pittsburgh and West Virginia Poison Centers.

Gillian Beauchamp, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1: 2025-2028)
Gillian Beauchamp, MD, FACMT, is Vice Chair for Education & Community Engagement, and core faculty for the Emergency Medicine Residency and Medical Toxicology Fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania. She is an associate professor at University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and adjunct clinical associate professor of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University.

Brenna Farmer, MD, FACMT
Brenna Farmer, MD, MBA, FACMT, is Chief of Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is Co-Chair of the enterprise Subcommittee on Medication Safety and Subcommittee on Emergency Medicine Therapeutics.

Rob Hendrickson, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1: 2023-2026)
Dr. Hendrickson is currently the Medical Director of the Oregon/Guam Poison Center and the fellowship director of the Medical Toxicology Fellowship, a medical toxicologist, and a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Oregon Health and Science University/Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Michael Holland, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1: 2024-2027)
Dr. Holland is currently the Director of Occupational Medicine for the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group and Saratoga Hospital Employee Health Medical Director, overseeing the health and safety of over 3100 employees and staff. He is also Employee Health Medical Director at Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls, NY, covering 2500 employees.

Joshua King, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 2: 2025-2028)
Josh King is a clinician-educator medical toxicologist, nephrologist, and internist with clinical interests in nearly all things involving both tox and kidney, extracorporeal treatment of poisonings, and medical education. He is presently Associate Professor of Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Maryland, the medical director of the Maryland Poison Center, the program director of the MPC’s Clinical Toxicology Fellowship, and the associate program director of Maryland’s Nephrology Fellowship.

Kathy Kopec, DO, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1: 2023-2026)
Following her fellowship, Dr. Kopec worked at Duke University for two years before moving to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, where she has been since 2015. She is currently a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center and the Director of the Medical Toxicology Division at her institution. Dr. Kopec is also the medical toxicology rotation director for medical students, residents, and fellows at CMC. Dr. Kopec is actively involved with her hospital’s medical toxicology fellowship program and inpatient medical toxicology consultation service.

Meghan Spyres, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1)
Dr. Meghan Spyres is currently Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona—Phoenix as well as faculty in the Department of Medical Toxicology at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. She serves as Medical Director for the Banner Poison and Drug Information Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She is also mother to her young son Oisin, an up-and-coming envenomation expert and reptile enthusiast.

Trevonne Thompson, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1: 2023-2026)
Dr. Thompson is a tenured professor of emergency medicine and medical toxicology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine where he is the head of the Division of Medical Toxicology within the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is an associate program director for the Toxikon Consortium Medical Toxicology fellowship program in Chicago, IL, and he’s also the Dean for Admissions at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Shan Yin, MD, FACMT
Board Member (Term 1: 2024-2027)
Dr. Yin currently serves as the medical director of the Cincinnati Poison Drug and Information Center where he has been since 2010. He is an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and also works clinically as a pediatric emergency medicine attending at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Paul Wax, MD, DFACMT
Executive Director of ACMT
Along with his full time position as the Executive Director of ACMT, Dr. Wax is an Adjunct Professor in Emergency Medicine (Medical Toxicology) at UT Southwestern School of Medicine where he has been on faculty since 2006. Previously Dr. Wax had faculty appointments in the Departments of Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine from 1991-2001 and the University of Arizona School of Medicine from 2001-2006. Dr. Wax previously served on the Board of Directors of ACMT from 1998-2008 serving as ACMT President from 2006-2008.

Elaine Rigney, MD
University of Rochester – Rochester, NY
Dr. Elaine Rigney is a first year Medical Toxicology Fellow at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester in 2021. Prior to fellowship, she served as both a hospitalist and a primary care provider within the Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine. Her clinical passions include bolstering outpatient toxicology follow-up, teaching students and residents across disciplines, and strengthening interdepartmental communication throughout the hospital system.

Kellie McKenzie, MD
Emory University – Atlanta, GA
Dr. McKenzie is a medical toxicology fellow with Emory University, where she also did her residency in emergency medicine. She is originally from North Carolina, and completed her undergraduate studies at Duke University before attending Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine for medical school. Her interests in toxicology include poisonous plants and venomous animals, medical education, and leadership. She also serves on the Executive Committee for the Academy for Women in Academic Emergency Medicine.

Emilie Lothet, MD

My name is Emilie! I was born and raised in France before moving to the US. I did my EM residency training at WashU in Saint Louis and am currently completing my medical toxicology fellowship at OHSU. I became interested in hospital operation my last year of residency when I had a chance to sit and participate in a number of departmental discussions. I am very excited to be part of the FIT program and to get to learn and participate in the Board’s conversations about the direction our field is taking.
