#ACMT2025 in Vancouver - Highlights

From April 4–6, 2025, ACMT welcomed 393 attendees from 11 countries to the stunning Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, Canada, for one of our most dynamic Annual Scientific Meetings yet. With 99 expert speakers, 32 educational sessions, and 210 abstract presentations, this was ACMT’s 3rd highest-attended ASM in over 20 years!

On April 2-3, 2025, we kicked off with a trio of powerhouse pre-meeting events: the AACT Symposium: Murder by Milligram: Investigating Surreptitious Poisonings, the ACMT Symposium: Harm Reduction in the Management of SUD, and the Occupational & Environmental Toxicology Boot Camp. For the main conference, we expanded our concurrent sessions to include tracks on Environmental & Public Health, Research, Addiction Toxicology, Professional Development, and New Insights—providing more educational content than ever before.

Highlights included the presentation of the 2025 Career Achievement Award to Dr. Russ Kerns, and the Donovan Lectureship by Dr. Dan Ciccarone on the rise of "Fentanyl-Plus.” Med Tox Fellows hosted another super fun FIT Double Dare as well as the first FIT Speakeasy at the President’s Reception. For first-time attendees, we piloted a very successful “Buddy Program.” We also held the first ever MTF Silent Auction, which brought out the competitive spirit of our members as they bid to support a good cause. And we were delighted to recognize and welcome new Fellows of the College (FACMT), and the very first cohort of Affiliate Fellows of the College (AFACMT) at the Annual Members Meeting & Awards Ceremony.

Attendees praised the event as “a wonderful conference,” “a great networking experience,” and “a must-attend to stay current in the field of toxicology.” A heartfelt thank you to Organizing Committee Chair, Dr. Kathy Kopec, and all who made #ACMT2025 possible—we can’t wait to see what’s next!
