Congratulations to David H. Jang, MD, MSc, FACMT, on Securing a Second Active R01 Grant
We are proud to congratulate ACMT member, Dr. David H. Jang on receiving his second active R01 grant, titled "Cell-free DNA Methylation Patterns and Mitochondrial Therapeutics in a Rodent Model of Organophosphate Poisoning." This five-year award from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences will support innovative translational research using a rodent model to investigate cell-free DNA as a novel biomarker and explore mitochondrial-based therapeutics for organophosphate poisoning.

Dr. Jang’s research journey has been supported by prior funding from the Medical Toxicology Foundation, including the 2017 MTF Innovative Research and Teaching Award. That support helped generate strong preliminary data for his earlier grants, including work published in the Journal of Medical Toxicology. These findings have contributed to multiple subsequent publications and helped secure further research funding.
Dr. Jang currently serves in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and is the Director of Biomolecular Research at the Resuscitation Science Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
