ACMT Signs in Support of “Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2025"

December 9, 2025

The American College of Medical Toxicology was proud to join more than 100 national medical societies in urging Congress to support the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2025 (H.R. 3514/S. 1816). This bipartisan legislation seeks to improve and standardize prior authorization processes within Medicare Advantage plans, helping reduce delays that can interfere with timely patient care.

This issue closely aligns with ACMT’s mission to advance the care of patients affected by toxic exposures and poisonings. Medical toxicologists work across the healthcare system, from emergency care to specialty services, and delays in authorization can create serious risks when timely evaluation and treatment are critical.

By supporting this legislation, ACMT is advocating for a system that allows clinicians to focus on patient care rather than administrative barriers, ultimately supporting better outcomes for patients and a more effective practice environment for our members.
