Brenna Farmer, MD, FACMT

Biography
Brenna Farmer, MD, MBA, FACMT, is Chief of Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is Co-Chair of the enterprise Subcommittee on Medication Safety and Subcommittee on Emergency Medicine Therapeutics. She is an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine. One of her current passions is ensuring the ongoing success of trainees so she spends time mentoring students and residents. When not working, she spends time with her family and is currently trying to learn Mandarin.
Education
Dr. Farmer earned her medical degree at Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University and completed her emergency medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She finished her sub-specialty training in medical toxicology at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center and the New York City Poison Control Center. In addition, she completed a fellowship in Patient Safety Leadership through the American Hospital Association and National Patient Safety Foundation.
Medical Toxicology Areas of Focus
Dr. Farmer's medical toxicology focus is on acute bedside toxicology and medication safety in the ED and throughout the hospital. Her academic interests include quality and patient safety, medication safety, and acute bedside toxicology.
