Dr. Satish Pillai, a Senior Liaison to Operation Warp Speed, will be the featured speaker for a  January 6th, 2021 webinar offered by the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT.) Dr.  Pillai will give an update on the current status of distribution and implementation strategies for  COVID-19 vaccinations.  

December 29, 2020 — In December of 2020, the FDA issued emergency use authorization for several COVID-19 vaccines. Focus now centers on how and when the vaccine will be distributed quickly and safely. The implementation of an effective vaccine distribution strategy is key to the successful vaccination of the population in a timely manner.  

To address this crucial topic, the American College of Medical Toxicology will offer a free  webinar on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, as part of its series “Medical & Public Health  Considerations of COVID-19.” This webinar will feature Dr. Satish Pillai, Senior Liaison to  Operation Warp Speed, COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, and, CDC Deputy Director, Division of  Preparedness and Emerging Infections. Dr. Pillai will provide an update on the current status of  COVID-19 vaccine implementation. He will also discuss the latest vaccine distribution and safety strategies for the COVID-19 vaccine, along with clinical considerations in regard to the vaccine’s administration. The webinar will conclude with a Q&A.  

The session will also feature special guest moderator, Dr. Paul Dargan, Professor of Clinical  Toxicology at King’s College London, and Consultant Physician and Clinical Toxicologist,  Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London, United Kingdom. Dr. Paul Wax,  Executive Director of ACMT, and Dr. Ziad Kazzi, Board Member of ACMT and President of the  Middle East and North Africa Clinical Toxicology Association (MENATOX) will also moderate.
