ToxIC and ACMT Represented at College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) Annual Meeting
Several members of ACMT's Toxicology Invesitgators Consortium (ToxIC) presented at the 2025 Annual Meeting for the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) in New Orleans, LA. Presentations featured data from recent projects including ToxIC's FDA-funded Drug Overdose Toxico-Surveillance (DOTS) Reporting Program, and the NIDA-funded Fentanyl Analog (Fentalog) study. -

CDC Announces National Partners Cooperative Agreement Recipients: American College of Medical Toxicology Among Awardees
ACMT was recently awarded a five-year, $1 million cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to implement the “Strengthening the Public Health System and Services through a Capacity Building Assistance Program for Medical Toxicologists.” -
Opioid Overdose Cases Show Presence of Medetomidine, Veterinary Medicine Similar to Xylazine, According to Recent Study by the Toxicology Investigators Consortium
ACMT's ToxIC Fentanyl Analog Study has detected medetomidine in patients seen in the ED after suspected opioid overdose. Data from this study included in a Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) released by the CDC. -
