ACMT Welcomes New Fellows in Training Association Officers

ACMT is excited to introduce the new officers for ACMT’s Fellows in Training Association! Michael Keenan, MD; Kyle Suen, MD; and Nicholas Titelbaum, MD are excited to start working to increase active membership in the association. They have plans to hold several networking opportunities for fellows this year. They are also going to provide several educational and career-oriented events.

Michael Keenan, MD
SUNY Upstate Medical Toxicology Fellow

Michael Keenan is a first-year toxicology fellow at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY. He is involved in research to improve patient cooperation in activated charcoal administration. He is also investigating shorter observation times for low-concern ingestions. His interests in toxicology include occupational toxicology, radiation exposures, and toxicology-related medical education. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, cycling, climbing, and skiing. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. As an officer in the Fellows in Training Association, he is looking forward to increasing fellow involvement. He hopes to help make the group something that fellows are excited to be a part of! 

Kyle Suen, MD
Emory/CDC Medical Toxicology Fellow

Kyle Suen is a second-year fellow at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, part of the joint Emory University and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention joint medical toxicology fellowship program. He is currently involved in projects investigating opioid use, opioid use disorder, the rise in stimulant use, and polysubstance overdose. His interests in the field of toxicology include drugs of abuse, novel psychoactive substances (designer benzodiazepines, specifically), medication-assisted therapy, and toxicology-related medical education. Outside of medicine, Kyle enjoys running, playing volleyball, traveling the world, and taking pictures of food and drink. He's excited to be a part of the Fellows in Training Association and hopes to help all toxicology fellows find a career in what they love to do.

Nicholas Titelbaum, MD
Emory/CDC Medical Toxicology Fellow

Nicholas Titelbaum is a first-year fellow at the Emory University and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention joint medical toxicology fellowship program. He is currently involved in projects investigating snake envenomation management, management of serotonin syndrome, and residency toxicology education. His interests in toxicology include envenomations, plant toxicology, medication-assisted therapy, and toxicology-related medical education. Outside of medicine, Nicholas enjoys hiking, photographing wildflowers and animals (including an ever-growing collection of photos of poisonous plants and venomous snakes), traveling, and reading. He is excited to be a part of the Fellows in Training Association and hopes to build a supportive community of toxicology fellows across the country and help fellows explore the variety of career paths available to medical toxicologists.
